The paper pointed out that the new research has achieved an "unprecedented" 17.6% of the conversion efficiency of solar hydrogen production through low-cost semiconductor materials.
Karuturi said in the communiqué that compared with the traditional hydrogen production method, the new method avoids the energy loss caused by multiple conversions of direct current and alternating current and the loss in the process of power transmission. The communiqué stated that the research team is working to increase the conversion efficiency of 17.6% to 20% in the next few months, paving the way for low-cost green hydrogen production.
