Biogas Vortex Flowmeter Accuracy Affected Factors

Biogas vortex flowmeters are generally used for large flow pipes. When the flow rate exceeds the measurement range, the accuracy will be affected. Of course, other factors will cause changes in the accuracy of biogas vortex flowmeters. We can make the following routine checks:

1. Check the ambient temperature and fluid temperature The influence of the ambient temperature and fluid temperature changes on the geometry change of the measuring body is composed of two parts. One is the change of the width of the vortex generating body; the other is the change of the inner diameter of the pipe. Elimination of this effect is generally a correction of the K-factor. At present, the vortex flowmeter of Jinhu Borui Instrument Co., Ltd. has effected fixed temperature correction and real-time temperature correction in software.

2. Check the accumulation of vortex generators at the inflow surface. If there are viscous particles in the fluid to be measured, they may gradually accumulate on the flow-in surface of the vortex generator. This changes the geometry and dimensions of the vortex generator. As a result, the flow coefficient changes accordingly. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the regular cleaning of dust and debris and other debris.

3. Check whether the inner diameter of the pipe is the same as the inner diameter of the flowmeter. Generally speaking, the inner diameter of the imported flowmeter is produced according to foreign standards, while the inner diameter of the domestic pipe is the domestic standard, and the difference between the two is sometimes very large. Inconsistent with the internal diameter of the flow meter, can be divided into the following conditions

1) When the actual inner diameter of the pipe is larger than the inner diameter of the meter, the difference between the two does not exceed 3% of the inner diameter of the flowmeter. The error caused by this is very small, and there is no influence on the measurement. No correction is required.

2) When the inner diameter of the pipe is smaller than the inner diameter of the meter, and the difference between the two does not exceed 2% of the inner diameter of the flowmeter, the resulting error is small, and the correction of the meter coefficient can be compensated.

3) When the internal diameter of the pipe is greatly different from the internal diameter of the meter, fluid flow disturbances caused by the abrupt change in the flowmeter allow the flowmeter to be installed with a flow field to optimize the rectifier, but a certain straight pipe section is still required after the rectifier is installed. Vortex flowmeter measurements are no longer stable and reliable, and the resulting errors cannot be compensated by correcting the K-factor. At this time, it is necessary to install enough straight pipe sections with the same inside diameter of the flowmeter before and after the flowmeter.

Of course, we may also encounter other factors that affect the accuracy of the biogas vortex street flowmeter when it is actually used on site. If you cannot analyze and solve it yourself, please contact our engineers in time.
