China's geothermal heating and cooling construction exceeds 130 million square meters

Statistics show that at present, there are 2236 shallow geothermal energy heating and cooling building projects in China with a construction area of more than 130 million square meters, and China’s geothermal utilization continues to rank first in the world.

On the 16th, the reporter learned from the promotion of the pilot work experience in the national shallow geothermal energy survey, evaluation and development pilot project. Up to now, there are 2236 architectural projects using shallow geothermal energy heating and cooling in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China. More than 130 million square meters, 80% of the projects are concentrated in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Henan, Shandong and other regions. About 20 million square meters of buildings in Beijing use shallow geothermal energy for heating and cooling, and Shenyang has more than 43 million square meters.

Geothermal energy refers to the heat energy buried in the earth. It belongs to naturally renewable clean energy sources, including shallow geothermal energy (within the depth of less than 200 meters), geothermal energy (with the depth of 200 meters - 3000 meters), and dry hot rock resources (depth of the ground More than 3000 meters) and so on. China's geothermal resources are abundant. It is estimated that the shallow geothermal energy resources in cities above the prefecture level in China are equal to 25.7 billion tons of standard coal. Each year, the amount of shallow geothermal energy available is equivalent to 960 million tons of standard coal, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 757 million tons.

According to the overall plan for China's response to climate change, the Ministry of Land and Resources and other preliminary plans for the next 10 years, China will increase the annual direct use of geothermal resources by 40 billion kcal, increase the high-temperature geothermal resources to generate 50 billion kcal, proving the shallow ground temperature The amount of energy that can be mined can reach 1,700 billion kcal/year, which can replace 260 million tons of standard coal, accounting for 8.5% of China's current total energy consumption (based on 2009 China's total energy consumption of 3.066 billion tons of standard coal), and can reduce 6.8 per year. Billion tons of carbon dioxide.
