According to relevant sources, at present, there are five major methods for comprehensive utilization of straw in Jiangsu Province, namely straw fertilizer, energy utilization, industrial raw materials utilization, feed and base materials utilization. There is still a low utilization rate, short industrial chain, and unreasonable industrial layout. However, the utilization of straw by straw power generation enterprises is not high at present. On the one hand, key technologies for straw power generation equipment have not yet been broken, such as boiler corrosion and coking; on the other hand, the collection and transportation costs are high. These results in a lower utilization of straw for the straw power generation companies that have been built. Some new technology applications are small in scale, especially for small-scaled distribution of suitable farmers, lack of practical technologies, and insufficient integration of various technologies, all constraining the comprehensive utilization of straw to a certain extent.
According to the "Planning", the comprehensive utilization of straw in Jiangsu Province will be divided into two steps: First, by the end of 2012, the province's total mechanization of rice straw will account for more than 35% of the total area, and the comprehensive utilization rate will exceed 80%. Incineration of straw; Second, by the end of 2015, it will take the lead in establishing a comprehensive straw collection, storage and transportation system in the country, taking the lead in forming a comprehensive utilization pattern of straw industrialization with reasonable layout, diversification, and deep utilization, with a comprehensive utilization rate exceeding 90%. According to relevant sources, to achieve this goal, the focus is on the three main ways of utilizing straw fertilizers (returning land), straw energy utilization, and straw raw material utilization.
Straw fertilizer, energy utilization is the most important way to use crop straw in Jiangsu Province. In the next step, the province will vigorously promote the most realistic and direct way of utilizing the full amount of straw mechanization. The key to energy utilization is to arrange straw power generation. Taking full account of the factors such as the distribution of approved straw power generation enterprises and the state of straw resources, the province will focus on the construction and management of 28 straw power plants that have been approved during the planning period. While improving the utilization potential of the gen- erators of grid-connected generators, the construction progress of 21 power generation enterprises that have been approved has been accelerated, and most of the straw power plants will be put into operation in 2012.
