Misunderstanding 2: Light color = less harmful substances Many people think that the color of the panel furniture must use heavy metal to color, when choosing children's furniture, try to choose the lighter paint furniture. In fact, the color depth of the paint has nothing to do with harmful substances. The more colorful the furniture, the more heavy metals it contains, the mistake is. As long as it is paint, it contains heavy metals, regardless of the depth of the color. For the heavy metal content of the paint, the manufacturer should have a test report, and the consumer can pay attention to the inspection when purchasing. The full name of water-based paint is water-based wood lacquer, which is the opposite concept of paint. In terms of environmental performance, water-based paints are indeed much more environmentally friendly, but even with water-based paints, consumers still need to look at relevant test reports when purchasing. Misunderstanding 3: Low formaldehyde = environmental protection Many parents believe that children's furniture with low formaldehyde content is environmentally friendly furniture. In fact, the environmental performance of furniture also involves benzene, heavy metal lead and so on. For furniture, the state has a corresponding limit standard for harmful substances, and its indicator is the amount of harmful substances released from furniture. For example, the index of wood furniture is the amount of formaldehyde released and the heavy metal content in the paint; the harmful substances in the fabric furniture are benzene and some volatile organic compounds; the stone furniture has requirements for radioactivity. When consumers buy furniture, they should not only pay attention to the amount of formaldehyde released, but also pay attention to the content of harmful substances according to the corresponding furniture materials.
