India ONGC plans to purchase 10 land rigs

According to "Rigzone," New Delhi reported on September 19, a senior executive of Indian oil and gas company (ONGC), India's largest oil company, told reporters here today that ONGC plans to spend 115 dollars to increase exploration and development activities. Rs 100 million (US$ 240 million) to purchase 10 land rigs.

The official said that ONGC plans to purchase six deep-water drilling rigs and four mobile drilling rigs for the company's onshore oil and gas operations. It will take 18 to 20 months to manufacture these 10 new rigs.

In order to stop declining oil and gas production and meet growing domestic energy demand, India ONGC will invest billions of dollars in exploration and drilling projects in the next few years.
