Recently, the Municipal Office for Integrated Urban-Rural Environment Management convened the relevant property units of Sakai, Sakai, and arranged the work points for installing the “protection net” before the flood season this year. At present, there are two kinds of the most complex property rights of Sakai, one is a multi-unit public well, and the other is a municipal pipe network access well outside the community and the unit.

Jiang Tao told reporters that the protective net will be the first to be installed in important areas, such as easy accumulation of water, densely populated vehicles, and frequent loss of manhole cover. The manhole cover of other sites will also be gradually installed and promoted to eliminate potential safety hazards.

The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau also stated that the relevant units will take this installation of the “protection net” as an opportunity to further clarify the property rights and ownership of each of the Sakai wells so that it can be standardized and repaired in a timely manner.

According to reports, the installation of manhole safety nets usually involves expansion bolts in the wellbore wall and a protective net. The protective net is a spider web structure, which is characterized by corrosion prevention, easy maintenance, high protection strength and low cost. Jiang Tao said that at the same time as the city’s Sakai is advancing the installation of “protection nets”, the relevant units will also try two new measures to ensure the safety of Sakai wells, namely the automatic alarm device that lacks caps and the manhole cover with lock. The lack of cover automatic alarm device means: a folding warning bar is installed under the manhole cover. When the manhole cover is missing or removed, it automatically springs up and erects a 30-40 cm warning sign on the ground to remind pedestrians and vehicles to pay attention to safety. This practice will be tried and installed at a large number of units including the municipal maintenance center, etc., and will be promoted after it matures. Another type is to install a manhole cover with a lock, that is, a ducted cast iron manhole cover with a special code lock is used for the manhole cover, and a keyhole with an irregular shape on the manhole cover needs a special “key” to open. Moreover, the manhole cover and the manhole cover are connected together, making it difficult for the thieves to steal. This kind of manhole cover is not easy to be washed away due to heavy rain and is not easy to be displaced due to rolling of the vehicle. However, it is relatively difficult to implement, and it will try to promote it when building a new manhole.
