Green lighting concept

Green lighting refers to the basic lighting products (electric light source, lamp electrical accessories, lamps, wiring devices, and dimming controllers and controls) that are designed with high efficiency, long life, safety and stable performance through scientific lighting design. Optical devices) improve the conditions and quality of people's work, study and life, thus creating an efficient, comfortable, safe, economical and beneficial environment that fully reflects the lighting of modern civilization.

In January 1991, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) first proposed the implementation of "Green Lights" and the concept of "Green Lights Program", which quickly gained support from the United Nations and many developed and developing countries. Pay attention to it and actively adopt corresponding policies and technical measures to promote the implementation and development of green lighting projects. In November 1993, the State Economic and Trade Commission of China started the Chinese green lighting project and was officially listed in the national plan in 1996. [2]

Recognizing from the above concepts:

1. Lighting projects must implement a sustainable development strategy, put conservation first, and improve resource utilization efficiency. Because green lighting can save energy, saving energy is important to protect the environment.

2. Green lighting includes the reasonable use of electric light sources, electrical accessories, lamps, wiring equipment, and dimming and light control devices. E.g:

Adopt energy-efficient electric light source:

1) Replace the ordinary lighting incandescent lamp with a tungsten halogen lamp (saving 50-60%);

2) Replace incandescent lamps with self-ballasted single-ended fluorescent lamps (70-80% power saving);

3) Replace the replacement of incandescent lamps and straight tube fluorescent lamps with straight tube fluorescent lamps (saving power 70-90%);

4) Promote the application of high pressure sodium lamps and metal halide lamps;

5) application of low pressure sodium lamps;

6) Promote the application of LED-LED.

Use energy efficient lighting fixtures:

1) Select reflective lamps with reasonable light distribution, high reflection efficiency and good durability;

2) Select the lamps that are coordinated with the light source and electrical accessories.

Energy efficient lamp electrical accessories:

Replace traditional high-energy inductive ballasts with energy-efficient magnetic ballasts and electronic ballasts.

Control devices or devices that use a variety of lighting energy savings:

1) Light sensor 2) Thermal radiation sensor 3) Ultrasonic sensor 4) Time program control 5) Direct or remote dimming.

3. Green lighting aims to improve the conditions and quality of people's work, study and life. Therefore, designers must understand the requirements of green lighting and master the national lighting design specifications to meet the requirements.
