The reporter recently learned from the China Electricity Council that from January to July, the national total electricity consumption was 2,398.9 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 20.25%. In July, the national total electricity consumption was 389.6 billion kWh, an increase of 13.94%. Among them, the national industrial electricity consumption was 178.3 billion kWh, an increase of 22.63%; the light and heavy industry electricity consumption increased by 13.46% and 24.58% respectively.
It is understood that from January to July, the first industry's electricity consumption was 56.6 billion kWh, up 6.13% year-on-year; the second industry's electricity consumption was 1.8094 billion kWh, up 22.69% year-on-year; the tertiary industry's electricity consumption was 249.1 billion kWh. The year-on-year growth was 15.39%; the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 283.8 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 13.07%. In the first seven months, the power generation of power plants above designated size was 2,347.8 billion kWh, an increase of 17.9% over the same period last year. Among them, hydropower was 341.6 billion kWh, up 8.2% year-on-year; thermal power was 199.1 billion kWh, up 19.5% year-on-year; nuclear power was 39.7 billion kWh, up 1.7% year-on-year. The country's major power grids have a total power generation capacity of 220 billion kWh, and the highest power generation has a total of 56.65 million kW, an increase of 22.15% (average daily) and 14.23% compared with the same period last year.
As of the end of July, the power generation capacity of power plants with a capacity of 6,000 kW and above was 876.71 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%. Among them, hydropower was 174.83 million kilowatts, up 14.6% year-on-year; thermal power was 66.95 million kilowatts, up 9.8% year-on-year; nuclear power was 9.08 million kilowatts, unchanged from last year; wind power was 22.44 million kilowatts, up 84.2% year-on-year.
From January to July, the country's power infrastructure construction completed an investment of 166.8 billion yuan, including 34. billion yuan of hydropower, 63.2 billion yuan of thermal power, 29.9 billion yuan of nuclear power, and 38 billion yuan of wind power. The country's new power production capacity (formally put into production) was 40.34 million kilowatts, including 7.33 million kilowatts of hydropower, 28.85 million kilowatts of thermal power, and 4.09 million kilowatts of wind power. The investment in the basic construction of the power grid was 145 billion yuan, and the power grid construction added 220 kilovolts and above, and the substation capacity was 120.31 million kVA, and the line length was 18,849 kilometers.
