IBM's New Solar Power Generation Technology Improves 2000-fold Efficiency

The technology giant IBM has become a world-renowned player in the IT industry. IBM imagines using an array of hundreds of photovoltaic chips to form an umbrella array that concentrates solar energy by changing the orientation of the photovoltaic chips. This new type of power generation equipment costs about US$250 per square meter, only one-third of traditional solar cells, and the cost of electricity is only US$0.1 per kilowatt-hour (per degree), which is comparable to the cost of thermal power generation.
